About

The chapel of Boussu (French: Chapelle funéraire des seigneurs de Boussu), built against the church of St.Gorik, is the mausoleum where the gentlemen and graves of Boussu buried their dead for centuries. The original Romanesque chapel, named in 1155, was rebuilt in the 16th century in Gothic style. The House of Prayer is desecrated and transformed into a museum of religious art.

Eyecatchers are the Renaissance and Baroque sculptures, with among others three excavations. The whole is protected in 1970 and belongs to the exceptional heritage of Wallonia. Visits are only possible on Sunday mornings in the summer or in group.
