The Archaeological site Ename of Provincial Heritage Site Ename is located in the East Flemish district of Ename. The abbey site is eight hectares large and situated on the Scheldt. Here the foundations of the Ottoon castle, the trade settlement and the Saint Salvatore abbey are preserved. The site has a European Heritage Label and is therefore on the European Heritage List. She is a stage of the Francia Media Heritage Route. In 2012, the Provincial Heritage Centre was opened next to the abbey ruins. Since the end of 2023, the collection of the Provincial Archaeological Museum Ename van Huis Beernaert moved to the Provincial Heritage Centre near the archaeological site. The permanent exhibition of Heritage Site Ename was opened on 5 July 2024 and highlights the diversity of heritage and the story of Ename. This exhibition includes the oldest preserved skull of Flanders. In 2025 the site was restored.
