About

The Nieuwe Sint-Rochus church is the current parish church of Ulbeek, located on Ulbeekstraat 32.

Building: This church replaces the Old St. Rochus Church. It was built some distance northwest of the old church. The building was inaugurated in 1938 and is an example of modern gothicism. It is a brick hall church in which concrete is also incorporated and where the pointed arch windows still refer to the gothic. The church is covered by a high saddle roof, covered with red pans. The flat-rise west tower, built on the left of the church against the north facade, is covered by a tent roof. Especially the gallmgates show concrete.

Interior: The interior is covered by a pointed sole vault. In the church there is a painting of Saint-Rochus from about 1600. Baptismal font dates from the second quarter of the 16th century. It shows four heads. The base and the lid are new. From the middle of the 17th century comes a reliquary of Saint-Rochus, made of silver-plated wood. The 1908 Communion Bank is a gift from the Hayen-Bomal family. Five prayer banks are from 1825.
