Church building
Heilig Kruiskerk
The Heilig Kruiskerk is a church building in Korbeek-Lo in the Belgian municipality of Bierbeek in the province of Flemish Brabant. The church is on the Bierbeekstraat surrounded by a walled cemetery. Behind the church is the Corbeek farm or Caluwaershoeve which dates back to the 18th century. The church is the parish church of the village and dedicated to the Holy Cross.
Building: The building is built in brick and sandstone and consists of a built-in west tower, a one-storey ship with five bays and a five-sided closed choir. The tower has a wired needlepoint and on each side a round arc-shaped reverb and a movement. The beech and the choir have support bears and round arch windows. The beech is overwhelmed by a pressed tongue vault, fitted with classicistic cliffs and drop motives under a rectangular window frame, and the choir is overwhelmed by cross-rib vaults, with flat ribs leaning on classically profiled collar stones. The choir has a baroque impact, and the tower, outbuildings and the western baye of the ship are built in classicist style.
