About

Brandhoek New Military Cemetery is a British military cemetery with World War I victims located in the Belgian village of Vlamertinge, a submunicipality of Ypres. The cemetery is located two kilometers west of the village centre of Vlamertinge in the hamlet of Brandhoek, which lies along the road from Ypres to Poperinge (N38). The cemetery was designed by Reginald Blomfield.

The terrain has an almost rectangular ground plan with an area of about 3,000 m2 and is surrounded by a hedge. The entrance consists of a white stone gate building with dome-shaped roof. The Stone of Remembrance is located on the northeast side of the site, the Cross of Sacrifice in the southeast corner.

The cemetery is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. 671 deaths are commemorated, including 5 unidentified.
