The Chapel Maria-van-Bijstand (also known as Chapel of O.L. Vrouw ter Heyden) is a late baroque chapel, located at the Houtmarkt in Haaltert and is part of the entrance to the cemetery of Haaltert. The chapel is built with bricks in combination with sandstone. The façade consists of two pilasters above which a crown frame serves as a base for a curl and staircase façade with triangular fronton. The door has a sandstone frame with a cartouche with the year 1703 and the text Maria Van Bystant B.V.O.. In the side facades there are two circular arch windows. The chapel has a slate saddle roof and roof rider with clock and metal cross. The altar with the statue of Maria-van-Bijstand is in baroque style.

History: Originally, there was a farm chapel near the village of Hoef ter Heyden. It was then known as "capelleken van Onze Lieve Vrouw ghenaemt ter Heyden." Due to its decay, a new chapel was built in 1703. During the French reign the chapel was sold and used for all kinds of purposes.
