About

The Grom is a museum, built around the themes vegetables, healthy food and horticultural heritage. Located in Sint-Katelijne-Waver, the museum is located in the Midzeelhoeve, a renovated 18th-century protected farmhouse with barns and gardens that once belonged to the Roosendael Abbey. The museum is a do-museum: during tours visitors are informed and actively involved in the exhibitions.

Since 2006, the museum combines education, activities, guided tours and cooking workshops where doing is central. Students get to work under supervision and prepare a healthy hot lunch. Experience learning outside the classroom would be sensational, teach children and adults to work together and make them feel that vegetables are good. The museum calls on volunteers to do this.

Exhibitions: At intervals, large exhibitions are held at the Grom Museum. The first three were Blik, Holy Beans and War Gardens respectively.

Holy beans (2009): Holy beans is an educational cooperation project between The vegetable museum 't Grom, Abbey Museum Ten Duinen, Archaeological Site-Museum...
