The Saint-Family Church is the parish church of the village of Witgoor, belonging to the Antwerp municipality.
History: In 1661 a chapel was built here dedicated to Our Lady of Assistance. During the interbellum (1918-1939), Witgoor became a chapel that was served from the Abbey of Postel. From 1932 there was an emergency church in the school of the sisters Annunciaten. In 1934-1935 a final church was built according to the design of Stan Leurs. In 1958 it was elevated to a parish church. The chapel, somewhat outside the village, fell prey to neglect and was eventually demolished.
Building: The brick church is an example of early modern architecture and is related to the new propriety. In fact it is a hall church, because the side beeches are like low constructions. To the left of the façade is an attached sturdy tower on square floor plan, covered by a flat roof and equipped with a metal cross. The actual building is covered by low shield roofs and flat roofs.
Interior: Especially the organ is special: the oldest parts are from 1630 and the organ cabinet is from 1730. In 1787...
