In 1885, Bergenaar Henri Glépin had left his fortune to the city of Bergen asking him to build a museum for his faience and porcelain collection. The museum was opened in 1913. The museum regularly organises temporary exhibitions, including surréalism and Belgique (1924-2000), All about Keith Haring, Rétrospective Serge Poliakof, Mannieres noires and Botero.
