Heilig Hartkerk
The Sacred Heart Church is the parish church of the town of Winkelomheide, located on the Kemeldijk.
History: It was not until the late 19th century that Winkelomheide began to expand. In 1907-1908, a parish church was built to design Jules Taeymans. It was destroyed during World War II. In 1951-1952 the church was rebuilt to the design of Silvain Strauven.
Building: It is a basilical brick oriented church in historic style with neo-Roman elements. The church has very low side beeches. The wall openings are round. The adjacent tower is flat and has a pointed tent roof and four pointed facades.
