About

The Collegiale Saint-Joris-en-Sint-Odakerk () is a historic church building in Amay, Belgium. The current structure is the result of a long evolution that dates back to the twelfth century, but archaeological excavations have shown that there was a church much earlier. Until the end of the eighteenth century, the building served as a chapel church, then as a parish church. Since 1933, it has been on the monument list and since 2022 it has been part of the exceptional real estate heritage of Wallonia. The church. The chapel hall and the cloister house some special artifacts, including two objects on the list of moving cultural heritage of the French community in Belgium (Liste des biens classés de la Communauté française): the Khrodoara sarcophagus (eighth century) and the Odaschran (13th century). Both objects are connected to St.Oda (or Chrodonara), one of the patron saints of the church, along with St.Joris. In the cloister of the church is the Municipal Museum of Archaeology and Religious Art.
