Apostolische Armeense kerk Sint-Maria-Magdalena
The Apostolic Armenian Church of Saint-Maria-Magdalena () is an Armenian apostolic church in the municipality of Ixelles in the Brussels-Capital Region. The church is on Kindermansstraat. The church is dedicated to Mary Magdalene.
History: Before there was a church on the Kindermansstraat, the Orthodox Liturgy for the Armenian community of Belgium was sometimes celebrated in Brussels, sometimes in Antwerp, by priests of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Paris. They were held in Anglican churches that were rented for the occasion. In the early 1980s the association Fondation pour l'Église arménienne de Belgique started to raise money for the construction of a church. The church was designed by architect Haïk Mardikian and engineer Jacques Kupelian who were inspired by the form of the Church of the Holy Cross. In 1985 the building permit was applied for. Construction began the following year and was completed in 1990. On 6 May 1990, the church was inaugurated by Vazgen I, Karekin I and Kude Nakachian, the Armenian archbishop of Paris.
