About

The Christ King's Chapel is a chapel on the Duinendreef 29 in the Belgian municipality of Knokke-Heist.

Christ King's Chapel

History: The chapel was built in 1905 on the design of Joseph Viérin. In that year there were three hotels and 50 villas in the developing Duinbergen. There was a need for a church building and this came. It was integrated into a monumental block. The chapel was enlarged in 1929 and the ship was extended by two bays and a new choir was built in the form of an octagonal space. A new beech was also added to the original one beech church, opposite the original ship. When the Holy Family Church was inaugurated in 1939, the chapel was closed and used only in the summer months.

Building: It is a neo-Gothic brick building of 1905 and 1929 with a forward entrance gate covered by a wolf roof. On the left side of the façade is a modest octagonal tower.
