Begraafplaats van Estaimpuis
The Cemetery of Estaimpuis is a municipal cemetery in the Belgian village of Estaimpuis. It is located on the Boulevard des Déportés, just 200 m north of the village centre (Église Saint-Barthélémy). From the road a path of 70 m leads to the entrance. The cemetery consists of an original part that is enclosed by a brick wall and a younger extension that is delimited by a hedge. Central is a crucifix.
To the left of the entrance are two graves of British fallen from World War II. The graves belong to Corporal James Douglas Scutt and Private Geoffrey John Avery. They were part of the Royal Berkshire Regiment and died on 24 and 21 May 1940. Their graves are owned by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and are registered under Estaimpuis Communal Cemetery. The maintenance of these graves is provided by the municipality and pays by the Belgian Ministry of Defence. The follow-up to the maintenance is done by the War Grave Service of the War Heritage Institute.
