Holy Church of the Cross

The Church of the Holy Cross is the parish church of the municipality of Ruiselede, located on Kruiskerkestraat 10-14.

History: In 1821 there was a school on the parish field. In 1884, there was a monastery, in which the Sisters of Our Lady of Seven contractions settled, and a school on the Kruiskerkestraat. The original school served for some time as a weaving school. Before the church visit, however, the residents had to go to Doomkerke. However, in 1932 a monastery chapel was built, which was enlarged in 1934. In 1947, a parish was founded and the monastery chapel was elevated to a parish church. In 1970 the sisters left Kruiskerke. However, the school was extended.

Building: It is a simple brick hall church in neo-Gothic style, located along the road. There's a bell rider on the roof. The interior is covered by a spire tone vault.
