70.8 is a museum in Brest dedicated to the sea and maritime innovations. It is located in the Capuchin workshops. Its name refers to the proportion of land occupied by seas and oceans: 70.8%.

History: Museum 70.8 is attached to Oceanopolis, a scientific culture center dedicated to the ocean. These two structures are managed by Brest'Aim, the equipment manager belonging to Brest metropolis. It was designed with the help of 110 national, regional or local structures (large schools, research centres, networks of actors, large companies). The exposure area is 900 m2. It was inaugurated on 28 May 2021 under the sponsorship of Thomas Coville and opened its doors to the public on 29 May 2021. After a year and a half of operation, the museum welcomed 22,000 visitors, which is below the original objectives. But management welcomes the satisfaction of visitors.

Exhibition: Brest metropolis wanted this museum to be a showcase of the territory's maritime excellence in research, technological development and innovation.
