History: The Church of the Holy Cross was traditionally dependent on the Church of Saint Gangulfus in Saint-Truiden. In 1169, the Holy Cross parish was first mentioned. The church dates from the first half of the 12th century. It is a simple, Romanesque cross basilica. This church was carried out in marl stone. Later, in the 18th century, parts of the walls and the southwest facade were restored with brick, using also marl blocks. The choir was added in 1769. It was performed in classicist style and used only brick, on a hardstone plinth. The church has no real tower, but only a slate-covered square equestrian covered by a wired needlepoint. In 1805 the parish became dependent on Schurhoven. From 1951 onwards, the (fruit) blossom was ordained. In 2002, the diocese decided not to allow any more worship services and in 2005 it was desecrated. Since then it has been known as Guvelingenkapel or Guvelingenkerk.
