château de Falaise
The chateau de Falaise known as château Guillaume-le-Conquerant is a former castle of the 10th century, which stands on the territory of the French commune of Falaise, in the Calvados department, in the Normandy region. The castle where the future Conqueror was born and which was one of its main residences, is both a strong place and a symbol of the princely power and cradle of the Anglo-Norman dynasty. The castle, owned by the commune, is classified as historical monuments.
