château de Montségur
The castle of Montségur (Montsegur en Occitan) is a former castle, called "cathare", rebuilt in 1206, but rebuilt at the end of the 13th century, whose remains stand in the French commune of Montségur in the department of Ariège, in the Occitan region. He is a candidate for UNESCO heritage registration in conjunction with the city of Carcassonne, all the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc of which he is part with the castles of Lastours and also the "Five Sons of Carcassonne" which are the castles of Aguilar, Peyrepertuse, Puilaurens, Quéribus and Termes.
