The former church of La Madeleine is a former Catholic place of worship in Paris, in the current 8th arrondissement. Built to serve the city's suburbs, it was decommissioned in 1790. It was demolished in 1801. The present church of La Madeleine was built to replace it.

Situation: The church was located at the corner of Rue de la Ville-l'Évêque and Rue de la Madeleine (present-day rue Boissy-d'Anglas, extended after the Revolution by the present-day rue Pasquier). She was therefore in front of the current 8 Boulevard Malesherbes. It was located northwest of the Benedictine convent of the Bishop (or Priory of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce).

In the 18th century, Rue Saint-Honoré crossed the ramparts of Paris by a monumental gate located approximately at the level of the current rue de Castiglione. Beyond this gate developed, from the 16th century, a suburb known first as Culture l'Évêque and then as Ville l'Évêque because it was placed under the suzerainety of the bishop of Paris from a concession dating back to King Dagobert I.
