About

The funeral slab of a priest († 1542) in the church of Saint-Germain in Fontenay-le-Fleury, a commune in the department of Yvelines in the Île-de-France region of France, is a 16th century funeral slab. It was listed as a historic monument as an object on 3 November 1982. The funerary slab, dated around 1550, was discovered during the works of 1966, at the foot of the bell tower.

This stone represents a priest wearing a calyx at breast height. The rich clothes of the deceased and the quality of work of the engraving indicate that he is an affluent family religious. At the foot of the character, a shield carries the arms of the Gondi, of which Villepreux, a nearby town, is one of the main residences.
