Road bridge
nouveau pont de Trinquetaille
The bridge of Trinquetaille is a road bridge crossing the Grand-Rhône at Arles in the French department of Bouches-du-Rhône. It connects the city centre to the Trinquetaille district from where it derives its name. Prior to the construction of the later bridge carrying the national road 113, a fast track allowing the connection between Marseille and Nîmes, it was the only road bridge on the Rhône in the city.
Built in 1875, destroyed by allied bombardment in August 1944, it was rebuilt in 1950. He is famous for two homonymous paintings by Vincent van Gogh.
