maison Julien-Gracq
The Julien-Gracq House consists of the writer's family home, garden and a building named "Le Grenier a sel", located in the commune of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil in Maine-et-Loire. The French writer Julien Gracq lived there. He donated the family home to be dedicated to writing and creation residences.
The medieval building named Le Grenier à sel bequeathed by Julien Gracq with his family home located on the banks of the Loire in Saint-Florent-le-Viel (Anjou) is visited from April to November. It is divided into two levels. On the ground floor, the Board of Maps is a space of discovery of the writer and a temporary exhibition place.
On the first floor, the remarkable library offers to read nearly 5000 books, about half of which belonged to the writer.. About 20 writing and creative residences have taken place each year. The Julien-Gracq House is labeled "Maisons des Illustres".
The management association of the house is chaired by Armel Pécheul, elected from Sables-d-Olonne and former member of the MPF of Philippe de Villiers.
