viaduc de la Poterie
The viaduct de la Poterie or viaduc Sud is a railway art work of the beamed bridge type located in Rennes, in the French department of Ille-et-Vilaine in Brittany. He crossed the municipal road in the Poterie district. The viaduct was put into service on 15 March 2002 and was taken by trains on the Rennes metro line A.
The total length of the work is 450 m. Designed by Norman Foster, it consists of two concrete aprons resting on steel batteries, as for its twin the viaduct of Pontchaillou. It has the peculiarity of having a metro station, the terminus La Poterie.
In the initial plans of line A, it was to be nearly 3 km long.
