About

Saint-Louis de Blois Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Blois, Loir-et-Cher department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Ranked a historic monument since August 9, 1906, it is the seat of the diocese of Blois, erected in 1697 by a bubble of Pope Innocent XII, at the time of the reconstruction of the church of Saint-Solenne destroyed during a storm. Previously, the country had always been dependent on the diocese of Chartres to manage its administration. Since the existence of a Saint Peter chapel in the sixth century, the present cathedral has been, after four reconstruction campaigns, the fifth church that existed there.
