Monument
The Grand Marionnettiste, or Clock of the Grand Marionnettiste, is a tourist site located in Charleville-Mézières, in the Ardennes department. It was designed to resemble a puppeteer whose various parts of the body are embedded in part of the façade of the International Puppetry Institute. This automaton presents twelve paintings every day designed as a puppet show and telling the story of the Four Aymon Sons, an Ardennes legend. The 21st edition of the World Festival of Puppet Theatres, held from September 17 to 26, 2021, was the occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Grand Puppetist and the 60th anniversary of the festival and the 40th anniversary of the International Puppet Institute.
