Gorgobina or Gortona is the capital of the Boians in Gaul. The most likely location is in the territory of the present commune of Saint-Satur in the Cher: many Gallo-Roman remains are attested to in Saint-Thibault-sur-Loire. Most of the knowledge comes from Book VII of the Commentary on the War of Caesar's Gauls. The denomination varied according to the French copyists and translations of this work: Gergobina, Gergoviam, Gergovia Boiorum, Gortona, etc.
