Château de Montaigne

The Château de Montaigne is located in the commune of Saint-Michel-de-Montaigne, in the French department of Dordogne. It is a 14th century strong house, which was the family home of the Renaissance philosopher and thinker Michel de Montaigne. The Tower of the bookshop is classified as a historical monument by order of 28 March 1952, while the rest of the castle is inscribed by order of 29 October 2009.
