The former convent of the Trinitarians of Saint-Salaire was a convent of the Trinitarian Order located in the district of Ublan in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée whose remains are integrated into the Collège Jean-Franco today.
History: The former convent of the Trinitaries belonging to the order of the Most Holy Trinity for the redemption of the captives founded by Saint John of Matha and Saint Felix of Valois for the redemption of the captives to the barbarians existed in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée since 1343. The suppression of the convent was envisaged in 1653, but the church was rebuilt between 1674 and 1677. The convent was occupied only by four fathers and two conversants in 1750-1752.
Decoration: The church is decorated with frescoes. In the right side chapel the frescoes are dedicated to the Virgin with panels bearing symbolic trees. They were realized thanks to the generosity of the Lord Jules Achiardy de l'Alp. Other frescoes were painted in 1685 in a lateral chapel to the left of the choir, dedicated to Notre-Dame du Bon Remede. They are very special because one of them represents the battle of Lepante.
