Stone bridge
pont des Cieutats
The Cieutat bridge, or Pont-Vieux, is one of three bridges allowing the crossing of the Lot in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, in the French department of Lot-et-Garonne. It is an arched bridge composed of two small arches and a large arch with a range of 36 meters. The name of the bridge comes from the mayor, Nicolas de Ciutat, Baron de Pujols and Tombebouc, and his son, Arnaud, who defended Villeneuve-sur-Lot in 1585 against Queen Margot who had taken the side of the League and had come to conquer the city.
