Oppidum
oppidum de la Quille
L'oppidum de la Quille (The Quilho in Provençal) is an oppidum of the Second Iron Age located in the commune of Puy-Sainte-Reparade (Bouches-du-Rhône). Located at an altitude of 454 m on the Puech hill, the Oppidum de la Quille dominates the Durance plain and the village of Puy-Sainte-Reparade to the north, ensuring a strategic location for the stronghold. It extends over 1.8 ha.
The surface of the plateau is occupied as well as part of the slopes. Dated from the time of the Tena (from the 4th to the 1st century BC), it was reoccupied in the Middle Ages, when the rampart was rebuilt.
