The bridge of friendship (in German: Freundschaftsbrücke) is a bridge crossing the Saarland and the Saarland Coal Canal from Grosbliederstroff in France to Kleinblittersdorf in Germany. The idea of a bridge connecting the two banks appeared in the 1860s. In 1880, a first bridge was created, destroyed at the beginning of World War II. It was rebuilt in 1964 and replaced by a bridge in 1993.
