Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre Cathedral is a French Catholic cathedral located in the city of Auxerre, Yonne department. In Gothic style, it has been protected as historical monuments since 1840. It is dedicated to St Stephen, the first martyr of the Church.
The most notable elements of this cathedral are the Gothic-style choir launched in the first half of the 13th century, the stained glass windows of the 13th – Fourteenth centuries, the especially artistic apsidial chapel and the walkway, the portals with a remarkable statuary, three large roses and other glass windows of the sixteenth century, the facades of the transept, the crypt, medieval frescoes. The ensemble is a remarkable representative of Gothic architecture in the northern half of France.
