Aviation museum
Aeroscopia is a French aeronautical museum located in Blagnac (Haute-Garonne), near the AeroConstellation site, and hosts two copies of the Concorde, which opened on 14 January 2015.
The location of the museum site in Blagnac was not always obvious to decision-makers. Several sites were in competition: The Blagnac site, located next to Toulouse-Blagnac airport and Airbus factories had the advantage of simplicity to bring the aircraft to the museum; the site of Toulouse-Montaudran was privileged for the history of the site which had hosted the Latécoère factories and the beginnings of the Aeropostale, the maintenance hangars of Air France until 2003; or the municipality of Balma which houses the CEAT and especially the aerodrome of Toulouse - Lasbordes contiguous to the Cité de l'Espace. In 2001, the delays even led to the construction of two parks, one in Blagnac with the aircraft that would benefit from the proximity of the Airbus factories (and their visits) as well as the airport, and another in Lasbordes, opposite the Cité de l'Espace, in the hope of being able to reuse the building...
