Château de Châteauvieux

Châteauvieux or château d'Alby is an ancient castle, from the 13th century, which stood on the town of Alby-sur-Chéran in the department of Haute-Savoie, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. He was one of the seven castles, with Le Donjon, Montconon, Montdésir, Montpon, Montvuagnard and Pierrecharve, who defended Alby. These castles were a defensive system for controlling the passage of the torrent.
