Château de Montmélian

The Château de Montmélian is a former 11th century castle, whose remains stand on the territory of the commune of Montmélian, in the department of Savoie. The residence of certain Counts of Savoy, it was the seat of the bailiwick of Savoy and a chestnut. It was strengthened in the 16th century and dismantled in the early 18th century.
