The château d'Allègre is a former castle, now ruined, whose remains stand on the French commune of Allègre-les-Fumades in the department of Gard, in the Occitanie region.

History: The first mention of the Castrum of Alegrio dates from 1163 when Bernard de Ferreyroles paid tribute to Bernard Pelet, Baron d'Alès. In 1211, a parchment by Philippe Auguste indicates that the castrum of Allegrio diocesis Uticensis belongs to several seigneurial families share the domain of Allegre under the suzerainety of the bishop of Uzès. It is a Languedocian coseigneuria whose betting knights pay tribute to the bishop of Uzes. The lord of Portes had the rights of high and low justice over his peers but also the right to the death penalty. He had his residence in one of the towers. In 1313 Guillaume de Randon, the dominant lord of the castrum, received the tribute of the eight coseigneurs: Jaussin de Naves, Pierre Jourdan, Pierre Guilhem Bérard, Raymond de Guilhefred, Guerin and Raymond d'Allègre, Raymond de Cadoine and Bernard del Puech.
