The chapel of the Annunciation, former chapel of the White Penitents, is a Catholic chapel located in Tende, France.

Location: The chapel is located in the French department of Alpes-Maritimes, in Tende, located on Rue Cotta, next to the Collège Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption.

White Penitents Brotherhood: The Brotherhood was founded in the mid-15th century. The fraternity manages a "Mont Frumentaire" which was created from its foundation and allows it to distribute seeds in the spring to the peasants in necessity with a repayment without interest. The statutes were revised in July 1948. The brotherhood is administered by a prior, assisted by a prioress who represents the penitents of the brotherhood.

Periods of main field construction: 2nd half 18th century / 1st half 19th century. The chapel of the confraternity of the White Penitents, or Confreria of the Most Holy Annunciation, was consecrated in 1621 (date appearing on the door of the sacristy) to replace a former oratory which today serves as a sacristy and in which paintings dating from the 15th century have been...
