The Saint-Dominique Church is a historic monument located in Old Thann, in the French department of Haut-Rhin.
History: Vieux-Thann is cited for the first time in a donation by the Bishop of Strasbourg Widerold (991-999) to the Abbey of Eschau. Like most churches founded by the bishop of Strasbourg, the church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It already existed in the tenth century. It was the oldest church in the Thur Valley. She remained Thann's mother church until 1389. It was a place of pilgrimage before it was supplanted by the pilgrimage of Saint Thiebaut in the 14th century. It remained the meeting place of the Confrérie des métriers de Haute-Alsace and of the weavers of Thann. In 1289, the church became the church of a community of beguines of Gundolsheim who adopted the rule of St Augustine in 1479 before entering the Dominican order in 1534.
