Location: The church Saint-Sidoine is located in Auvergne, in the department of Puy-de-Dôme, east of the village of Aydat, about 400 meters southwest of Lake Aydat.

Église Saint-Sidoine d'Aydat

History: The church is dedicated to Sidon Apollinaire, bishop of Clermont in the fifth century. Its construction dates back to the thirteenth century. In the 15th century, it was fortified by the addition of four towers, one to the north and three to the south. The bell tower dates from the 19th century. On August 4, 1970, the entire church was classified as historical monuments.

Architecture: The church has a bell tower to the west. Its nave, composed of five spans, is flanked by two collaterals. In the east, the apse is polygonal. Bas-reliefs adorn capitals and vault keys.
