La Chapelle Saint-André de Rivesaltes is a Romanesque church in Rivesaltes, France.
History: Saint Andrew's Church was cited as early as 923 or 930. The current building, dating from the 11th century, is built on an older site dating back to Roman times. It is the parish church of Rivesaltes in the 10th and 11th centuries. The church will be abandoned following the construction of the fortifications in 1172. In order to avoid confusion with the current church of St Andrew, it is now called a chapel.
Architecture: The building consists of a single nave and a semicircular apse. A side chapel, vaulted on a cross of warheads, was added in the 14th century. The walls are built on the basis of local materials: cayrou (full Catalan brick), Espira sandstone and river pebbles. The entire chapel was renovated in 1989. The bell tower is equipped with a bell tower until the beginning of the 20th century, demolished since. It was rebuilt and inaugurated in 2012. A bell, called Sabelline, was installed there.
