La Cova de l'Alarb, also known as Cova dels Alarbs or dolmen du col de Brau, is a dolmen located in Banyuls-sur-Mer, in the French department of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
History: The Cova de l'Alarb ("Groat of the Thief") bears its name from the word alarp, deformity of the word "Arab" referring to the Moorish invasions of the eighth century, having gradually assumed the meaning of "the thief, the pool" referring to the Moorish invasions of the eighth century, having gradually assumed the meaning of "the thief, the pool". In 1883 Ludovic Martinet mentioned three dolmens called Covas del Arpes, one of which would have a table measuring 3 m by 2 m. This erroneous description will be repeated by different authors throughout the first half of the twentieth century.
Description: It is a small dolmen that is singularized by the height of the bedroom (1,50 m). The room is bounded by three orthostates in shale. The two side slabs overflow from the bedside slab according to an H-shaped plane. The entrance is narrowed by two smaller slabs. The dimensions of the covering slab (2.10 m by 1.70 m), which was restored during the 1990 restoration, do not correspond to the summary description...
