dolmen d'el Quadró
The dolmen d'el Quadró is a ruined dolmen located in Montesquieu-des-Albères, in the French department of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
History: The Catalan word el Quadró refers to a cultivated plot of quadrangular shape, but according to Jean Abélanet toponymy could also refer to the shape of the dolmenic chamber before its dismantling.
Description: The dolmen is ruined. It remains a large orthostate (1.70 m long and 1.30 m high and 0.10 to 0.20 m thick) still erect. The bedside slab (1.40 m long by 1.20 m high and 0.20 to 0.35 m thick) is lying inside the bedroom. The entrance was probably facing south-southwest. A slab of 1.10 m long over 0.80 m wide visible to the west of the still erect orthostate could correspond to a fragment of the covering slab.
