About

La Maison du Charolais is a French museum located in the commune of Charolles in the department of Saône-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Opened in 1999, Maison du Charolais is composed of a museum, a tasting area, a local produce shop and a restaurant. The museum invites you to discover the Charolais breed, a bovine breed that has become the emblem of its original territory, Charolais-Brionnais.

Its main objective is, moreover, to link to a terroir all the production of quality charolaise meat, a concept which has the value of a very relevant argument with the consumer[desirable ref.]. In 2011, the Maison du Charolais received 10,429 visitors. The Maison du Charolais is fully accessible to disabled people regardless of their disability, and has been awarded the label "Tourism and disability".
