The church Saint-Georges des Batignolles is a former place of worship in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, now home to a recording studio and rehearsal rooms under the name Studio Saint-Georges des Batignolles.
Location: The church is located in the Nantes Erdre district, at the corner of Boulevard des Batignolles and Avenue de la Gare-de-Saint-Joseph near the Beaujoire Stadium.
History: In 1920, a first Saint-Georges des Batignolles church was built, at the corner of the boulevard des Batignolles and the chemin de Saint-Georges (now avenue de la Gare-de-Saint-Joseph), by the Goüin family for their workers of the Factory of the Batignolles, founded in 1917. Abbé Joseph Guiho, the future vicar general of the diocese, became his first parish priest in 1924. With the support of the factory management, numerous parish works were initiated, including a sponsorship for children as early as 1921, an "Amicale" presided over by neighbour Robert de La Tullaye or a holiday colony in Kervalet (Batz-sur-Mer).
