The church of Saint-Marcel is erected in the commune of Saint-Marcel-lès-Annonay, department of Ardèche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Its neo-Gothic architecture is the work of an architect from Annonay. It could be Prosper Borione (1815 - 1895) or his son Elie (1866 - 1908).

They are the authors of several churches in Haut-Vivarais, some of which are neo-Gothic. Thus the church of Saint-Marcel has similarities with those of Saint-Joseph d'Annonay (1870-1872), Villevocance (1874-1877), Vidalon (1876-1877), and Saint-Alban-d'Ay (1877-1882). The building is located in the heart of the town's capital near the creek of "Concise".
