centre national d'art contemporain
The Centre national d'art contemporain (CNAC) was founded in Paris in 1967. Its mission is to develop national collections of modern art and to establish the National Fund for Contemporary Art (FNAC). Until 1977, when he joined the newly created Georges Pompidou National Centre for Art and Culture, which he helped to create and which perpetuates his acronym, he is an external department of the Department of Artistic Creation of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. He then had an exhibition gallery and a documentation centre at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, rue Berryer in Paris.
