Constellation de la Douleur
The Constellation of Pain is a set of nine giant statues, work of Christian Lapie, erected on the territory of the commune of Oulches-la-Vallée-Foulon, in the department of Aisne, on one of the slopes of the Way of the Lady, near the Dragon cave, in tribute to the soldiers of sub-Saharan Africa who fell in 1917 during the battle of the Way of the Lady during the First World War. The sculpture was inaugurated on September 22, 2007, as part of the commemorations of the 90th anniversary of the battles of the Chemin des Dames.
