alignements du Petit-Ménec
The Petit-Ménec alignments are a set of menhirs located in the commune of La Trinité-sur-Mer in the French department of Morbihan.
History: They have been classified as historical monuments since 1889. The site was severely degraded during the 19th century and the 20th century pine plantations helped to make the site unreadable while it was completely devoid of vegetation previously as evidenced by old postcards. In April 2012, menhirs were overthrown by a logging company, destroying unexcavated archaeological layers.
Description: The site consists of 101 menhirs placed on seven lines facing east and three lines facing northeast. This alignment extends that of Kerlescan, located in Carnac over a length of about 350 m.
