The Musée des sciences biologiques Dr Mérieux is a museum located in Marcy-l'Étoile, which has been open since 2007. The Mérieux Institute settled in the commune of Marcy-l'Étoile in 1917. The municipality developed at the same time as this institute.

The mayor of the commune Joël Piegay wished to commemorate the history of his commune by creating this museum dedicated to biological sciences, public health, and the history of vaccination. The museum is also a link between the two human and veterinary medicines. It is managed by an association law of 1901.

The commune also houses the National Veterinary School of Lyon today Vet Agro Sup. The museum has five presentation rooms.
